Individual Child Therapy

With deep care and a truly holistic approach to psychology, we meet each child where they are, offering the support their unique mental health needs deserve. We champion their strengths, gently rekindle their spark, and nurture the resilience already within them.

Who We Support
and How We Help

At Ignite, we provide proactive, attachment-informed psychological support that empowers families to flourish, long before crisis hits. Through gracious hospitality, holistic care and a commitment to doing things differently, we walk alongside families helping them to build lifelong skills, resilience, and relationship patterns that strengthen rather than rupture.

Key Ways
We Help

Every feature is designed with care to meet you where you are, and guide you toward where you want to be.

What To Expect

Our holistic approach goes beyond the child, embracing the entire support system. We work with parents, schools, and professionals to implement the therapy across their day-to-day lives to have true impact.

Holistic care means seeing and supporting the whole child, their emotions, relationships, environment, and daily life, not just isolated behaviours or challenges. It’s about understanding how all these parts connect and working with the whole support system to make a real, lasting difference.

We work with parents, teachers, and professionals to create consistent, connected support throughout a young person’s day-to-day life, ensuring therapy extends beyond the clinic.

We ensure that therapy isn’t confined to sessions alone. By integrating strategies into home, school, and community settings, we help children apply what they learn consistently where it matters most.

Our care extends beyond scheduled sessions. We stay connected through community involvement and dedicating time beyond billable hours to be there when you need us most. Through resources and workshops we provide parents and educators with tools and strategies to carry into everyday life, long after therapy ends.

What To Expect

At Ignite, we proactively empower families with the tools and education to address challenges before they become a crisis.

We equip families with practical tools and evidence-based education to address emotional and behavioural challenges early, before they escalate into crisis.

Led by expert voices in Attachment Theory, we work shoulder-to-shoulder with families to co-create effective, compassionate solutions.

We believe that a child's behaviour is a form of communication, not a reflection of their character.

We use psychological insights and the latest screening tools, analysis and techniques to gain a comprehensive understanding of your child’s strengths and areas of development.

What To Expect

At Ignite Psychology, we are dedicated to helping children and teens overcome anxiety and build stronger, more positive lives. That's why we are proud to offer our Cool Kids & Teens Anxiety Programs.

Through our Cool Kids programs, we guide children and teens aged 7–17 to better understand anxiety and build the tools they need to move forward with confidence.

Backed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), our Cool Kids Anxiety Program, Chilled Program (for teens) and Cool Kids, Adapted Program (Neurodiverse Children) offer clear, effective strategies, like relaxation techniques, problem-solving, and thought-challenging, to help reduce anxiety and build resilience.

With all our programs, we work alongside both children and parents, building stronger communication and emotional understanding, so families can face challenges as a united team.

Most young people who complete these programs see lasting change, feeling more calm, capable, and connected in school, at home, and beyond.

What To Expect

We understand that asking for help can feel like the hardest step. So we’ve made the process simple, welcoming, and supported every step of the way.

From your first phone call to your first session, our team walks beside you, handling the logistics, answering your questions, and offering small comforts (yes, the coffee’s on us).

Our space is warm, not clinical. We wade through the tough waters together, with openness, honesty, and a deep respect for your courage.

We take care of the paperwork and process so you can focus on what matters most: your child. With care, clarity and compassion, our team handles the details so your energy stays where it’s truly needed.

FAQs

We know starting support can bring up a lot of questions, so we’ve answered some of the most common ones here.

Simply fill out our online contact form, and a member of our team will be in touch with you as soon as possible to guide you through the next steps.

Each standard session lasts approx 50 minutes, with an additional 10 minutes set aside for the Psychologist to complete notes and related work.

The number of sessions will vary based on your unique needs and goals. Your therapy journey is personal, and we’ll work with you to determine the right pace and support along the way.

A referral from your GP is not required for you to attend therapy. However, if you wish to receive rebates from Medicare for your sessions, a valid referral is required.

If your private health cover includes psychology, you will be able to claim for psychological services. The rebate amount is dependent on your individual cover, it is best to speak with your health provider to determine this.
